Dancer catches fire during performance in Nantong, China
A performer was injured during a fire-themed dance show at a wildlife park in Nantong, China. While wearing a red dress with an integrated fire ring, the performer's costume ignited during a transition. When the flame mechanism failed to detach as intended, the fire spread rapidly to the performer's dress and hair. The woman ran along the beach before plunging into the Yangtze River to extinguish the flames. She was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Reports state that the dancer is in stable condition and did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The park has suspended the fire performance indefinitely pending a safety investigation.
