Ministry of Justice holds meeting to accelerate construction of new correctional facility

On Thursday, the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Costas Fytiris, presided over a meeting at the Ministry of Justice regarding the construction of a new correctional facility. The primary objective of the meeting was to coordinate efforts and streamline procedures to facilitate the timely development of the project. Participants identified key data points, established initial project directions, and agreed to intensify cooperation. The meeting focused on accelerating the preparation of the prison's master plan. Attendees included the Ministry's Director General, representatives from the Public Works, Town Planning, Land Registry, and Electromechanical Services departments. The Acting Director of the Prison Department and other Ministry officials also participated in the session. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve the country's penal infrastructure.
