Jasveen Sangha sentenced to 15 years for role in Matthew Perry's death
On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Garnett sentenced 42-year-old Jasveen Sangha, known as the 'Ketamine Queen,' to 15 years in federal prison. Sangha, a dual U.S.-British citizen, pleaded guilty in September 2024 to five felony drug counts related to the 2023 death of actor Matthew Perry. The actor, 54, was found dead in his Los Angeles home in October 2023 due to the acute effects of ketamine, which investigators linked to a dose supplied by Sangha. Prosecutors alleged that Sangha operated a 'stash house' in North Hollywood and continued drug dealing even after learning her products were linked to a fatality. While prosecutors recommended the 15-year term, the defense had requested a lighter sentence, citing her sobriety since her arrest in 2024 and her remorse. Matthew Perry's stepmother, Debbie Perry, had requested the maximum sentence, citing the irreversible pain caused by the defendant's actions. Sangha, who faced a potential maximum of 65 years, is one of several defendants involved in the case, which also includes two physicians and Perry's former personal assistant.
