Cypriot footballer Kostakis Pieridis dies at 85

Former Olympiakos Nicosia striker Kostakis Pieridis has passed away at the age of 85. He was a key figure during the club's golden era, helping the team secure league championships in 1967, 1969, and 1971. In the 1964-65 season, he was the top scorer of the first division with 21 goals. Pieridis also represented the Cyprus national team between 1960 and 1970 and later pursued a career as a coach. The funeral service will be held at the Agios Panteleimonas Church in Makedonitissa, with condolences starting at 10:30 and the service at 11:00. Following the ceremony, he will be buried at the Pallouriotissa Cemetery. The Cyprus Football Association and Olympiakos Nicosia have officially expressed their condolences to his family.
