Actor Tasos Chalkias discusses his childhood experience with corporal punishment

He shared that he frequently received corporal punishment from his father during his teenage years, specifically between the ages of 15 and 16. Chalkias stated that he received physical strikes to the face as a form of discipline for misbehavior. He justified these actions by citing his father's demanding work schedule, noting that his father worked long hours in the shipping industry and had little time to address domestic issues. The actor emphasized that he does not consider himself abused and believes the discipline was deserved and beneficial to his development. He further claimed that these experiences of physical pain contributed to the core of his artistic talent. Despite this personal perspective, he noted that he did not adopt the same disciplinary methods when raising his own children.
