Criminal court in Limassol delivers sentences in two separate drug and attempted murder cases

The Limassol Criminal Court has handed down sentences in two distinct criminal proceedings. In the first case, a 26-year-old man was sentenced to seven years in prison for the attempted murder of a 39-year-old man on December 30, 2024, involving a shooting that injured the victim's leg. He was also convicted of drug possession, specifically cannabis and cocaine found at his residence. A 22-year-old woman involved in the same residence case received a 2.5-year suspended sentence. In a separate, larger drug trafficking operation, a 62-year-old and a 47-year-old were sentenced to 22 and 20 years in prison respectively. They were arrested on September 23, 2025, after authorities seized over 100 kilograms of narcotics, including approximately 97 kilograms of cannabis and five kilograms of cocaine, hidden in inflatable toys inside a shipping container from Thessaloniki. The total value of these drugs was estimated at over three million euros, and the sentences are concurrent.
