Stavros Malas and veterinary services deny rumors of conflict

The Veterinary Services explained that the March 31 letter was not a directive to halt imports, but a request for clarification regarding EU co-financing eligibility for farmer compensation. They emphasized the need to consult the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health before proceeding with national processes. Mr. Malas addressed the rumors on the X platform, criticizing the journalistic attempts to create sensational headlines. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the shared goal of supporting the Cypriot farming industry.
