Cyprus Tennis Federation holds annual awards ceremony

On April 3, 2026, the Cyprus Tennis Federation held its annual 'Tennis Day' awards ceremony at the Olympic House in Nicosia. The event honored the top athletes of 2025 and 2024. Officials in attendance included representatives from the Cyprus Sports Organization, the Cyprus Olympic Committee, and the Ministry of Education. The federation president, Dimitris Leontis, highlighted key achievements such as the promotion of the men's Davis Cup team to the second tier and the success of junior teams in European championships. Additionally, special recognition was given to the national padel teams for their debut appearance at the 2025 Eurocup. Raluca Serban and Menelaos Efstathiou were named top tennis players for 2025. During the event, Sergios Kyratzis and Stylianos Christodoulou were honored upon their retirement from active competition. The government also announced an increase in state funding for the federation to support infrastructure and development.
