Limassol to host European Maritime Day 2026

Limassol will host the European Maritime Day (EMD) on May 21 and 22, 2026, at the Carob Mill complex. The event is organized by the European Commission, the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Ministry, and the Limassol Municipality. Key speakers include European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans Costas Kadis, Deputy Shipping Minister Marina Hadjimanolis, and Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis. The two-day program features high-level policy discussions led by DG MARE and 24 thematic workshops involving maritime stakeholders. Participants will include representatives from government, academia, NGOs, and the private sector. Additionally, an exhibition will allow companies and organizations to showcase their blue economy projects and services. The event aims to foster networking, policy development, and discussions on the sustainable blue economy. Parallel activities for the general public are also planned in various coastal cities to raise awareness about maritime and coastal development.
