Digital restoration of the 12th-century Enkleistra of Saint Neophytos to be presented

The UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) has announced the creation of a 'Memory Twin' for the 12th-century Enkleistra of Saint Neophytos. Located in Tala, Paphos, the site has been recreated using 3D digitization, artificial intelligence, and virtual and augmented reality technologies. This project is part of the European Union's 'EUreka3D-XR' initiative. The effort, which goes beyond standard digital twinning by integrating historical narratives and experiential data, was developed in collaboration with MIRALab in Geneva. The public presentation of the project is scheduled for May 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The event will take place at the monastery site following the morning Divine Liturgy. This initiative aims to provide an interactive way to experience the cultural and historical value of the site.
