Barkfest dog festival held in Dubai amid regional conflict
During the first weekend of April, the Barasti beach in Dubai hosted a dog festival known as Barkfest. The event featured dog beauty pageants, various pet-related vendors, and social gatherings, taking place despite ongoing regional military tensions. Official reports state that since late February, Iran has launched approximately 2,191 drones and 531 missiles toward the United Arab Emirates. While local authorities have successfully intercepted the vast majority of these projectiles using advanced air defense systems, debris from the attacks has resulted in the deaths of 10 people. The UAE government maintains a focus on preserving the city's image as a stable environment despite the constant threat of military strikes. Participants at the festival continued their activities despite the reported ongoing aerial threats and the recent period of uncertainty prior to a potential ceasefire. The event was characterized by a festive atmosphere, contrasting with the reported security challenges faced by the region.
