Fire incidents reported in Larnaca, Paralimni, and Agioi Trimithias
On April 8, 2026, three separate fire incidents occurred across Cyprus. In Larnaca, a fire broke out on the second floor of a residence at 6:02 am, causing the collapse of a wooden roof and extensive damage. While initial reports cited six occupants, the Fire Service later clarified that nine individuals were at risk; all escaped safely before authorities arrived. One person was taken to the hospital due to a panic attack, and investigators suspect an electrical fault. In Paralimni, an overheating charger caused a kitchen fire at 6:36 am, damaging furniture and affecting walls with smoke. Additionally, an abandoned brick house in Agioi Trimithias caught fire at 4:58 am, involving waste materials like pallets and tires. Authorities are investigating the latter incident as a potential case of arson, as no occupants were found on the premises.
