Department of Road Transport issues safety warnings for various vehicle models
The Cyprus Department of Road Transport (TOM) has issued safety warnings regarding specific vehicle models following reports from the EU's Safety Gate system during the 13th week of 2026. Models flagged for fire risks include the Ford Kuga (produced 2019–2023), Hyundai Kona (2018–2022), various Volkswagen ID series (ID. Buzz, ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID. Buzz Cargo produced 2022–2024), the Nissan Micra (2025), and the Freefire HVH electric mountain bike. Furthermore, risks of injury were identified for MAN/Neoplan trucks and buses, the Volvo EX30 (2025), and several models from the Stellantis group. These include the Fiat Doblo and Scudo, Citroen Berlingo and Jumpy, Peugeot 208, 308, Rifter, Partner, and Expert 4, as well as the DS4 and DS7 Crossback. The production dates for these models range from late 2025 to early 2026, depending on the specific vehicle. Vehicle owners are advised to consult official safety databases for detailed information regarding these risks. The warning originates from findings recorded in the European Union's rapid alert system for non-food dangerous products.
