Cyprus identifies 69 dangerous products via EU Safety Gate system

The Cyprus Consumer Protection Service announced that 69 non-food products were flagged as hazardous in the EU Safety Gate system during the week of March 30, 2026. These products were identified across various European Union member states. Responsibility for monitoring the Cypriot market is divided among several authorities: the Consumer Protection Service is handling 27 products, the Electromechanical Services Department 21, the Department of Road Transport 11, the Department of Labour Inspection 8, the Environment Department 1, and the Health Services 1. One of the products reported by the Electromechanical Services Department was identified specifically within Cyprus. Authorities have urged both consumers and economic operators to immediately cease the use or distribution of any of these listed items. Consumers are advised to check the official Safety Gate website for a full list of the products. Economic operators must contact the relevant government departments if they possess any of the identified goods.
