Alshaya Group acquires Starbucks operations in Greece and Cyprus

The Alshaya Group has officially acquired the operating rights for Starbucks in Greece and Cyprus, ending the long-standing partnership with the Marinopoulos family. The transition marks the departure of Giannis Marinopoulos, the former CEO, who is returning to his family's other business interests. Established in 2002, the network currently consists of 30 locations in Greece and 18 in Cyprus, with a workforce of approximately 500 employees. The Alshaya Group, a significant international Starbucks partner since 1999, currently manages over 2,000 stores across 13 countries. Company leadership, including Saleh Alshaya and Duncan Moir, expressed commitment to future growth and continued service for the local markets. No disruptions to current staffing or store operations were announced during this ownership transfer.
