Ukrainian intelligence reports alleged Russian satellite support for Iranian strikes

A Ukrainian intelligence assessment reviewed by Reuters claims that Russian satellites conducted at least 24 detailed surveys of 46 military and critical sites across 11 Middle Eastern countries between March 21 and 31. The assessment alleges that this imagery was shared with Iran to assist in targeting U.S. forces and regional assets. Facilities surveyed reportedly included airports, oil fields, and locations in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Qatar, Iraq, Bahrain, and the Diego Garcia naval base. Five surveys were specifically targeted at the King Khalid Military City in Saudi Arabia to potentially locate the U.S.-made THAAD air defense system. The report states that military sites were targeted by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones shortly after being surveyed. Additionally, the assessment identifies collaboration between Russian and Iranian hackers in the cyber domain. Western and regional security sources confirmed to Reuters that they observed intense Russian satellite activity consistent with these findings. The report frames these actions as secret Russian support for Iran following military operations launched by Israel and the U.S. on February 28.
