According to data released by Eurostat on World Health Day, 36.4% of Cypriots aged 65 and older perceive their health as good or very good. Gender breakdowns show that 37.6% of men in this age group report positive health compared to 35.3% of women. This places Cyprus close to the European Union average of 40% for the same demographic. Among the middle-aged group, women reported higher levels at 74.2% versus 73.3% for men. Ireland and Belgium recorded the highest positive health scores for the 65-plus demographic, while Lithuania recorded the lowest. Cyprus ranks slightly above the EU average for self-reported health among younger age groups, which stood at 91.3% in the EU.
