Journalist submits evidence in corruption and abuse case

Journalist and Volt candidate Makarios Drousiotis submitted a dossier containing hundreds of documents to police headquarters on Tuesday regarding allegations of corruption and sexual abuse. The investigation centers on claims involving a woman referred to as 'Sandy', who reportedly informed police last week that SMS messages at the core of the allegations are not genuine. Police sources indicate they are treating Sandy's current testimony with skepticism, concerned that it may have been influenced by external pressure. While Drousiotis has declined to comment on the woman's shifting position, investigators intend to call her for further questioning. Former Supreme Court judge Michalakis Christodoulou has denied all wrongdoing, while former Bar Association president Christos Clerides confirmed he had received material related to this matter in 2018. Disy leader Annita Demetriou has called for public responsibility, warning against actions that could destabilize state institutions. The police investigation into the complex case remains ongoing as officials work to verify the evidence provided by multiple parties.
