Road safety park for children to open in Athienou

On April 22, the municipality of Athienou will inaugurate a new traffic education park designed to teach road safety rules to young children. The park features miniature roads, a roundabout, and standard traffic signage to simulate real-world conditions. Located in a repurposed green space near two local preschools, the facility is primarily aimed at children aged three to six. Before the official opening, a local community police officer will provide educational briefings to the children to explain how the traffic system functions. The state government provided the necessary funding to purchase small bicycles for use within the park. These bicycles are available for all children in the municipality, including those who do not own their own. The project was developed by the Athienou municipality in cooperation with the police traffic department. The site was chosen for its proximity to both the local community childcare station and the public kindergarten.
