Nicosia municipality signs contract for Ledras and Onasagorou streets renovation
The Nicosia Municipality has signed a contract with the construction company A.M. Andronikou Ltd for the first phase of the renovation project of Ledras and Onasagorou streets. Mayor Charalambos Prountzos signed the agreement on behalf of the municipality, while Director Michalis Andronikou represented the contractor. This project is part of a larger strategy to revitalize areas along the Green Line and upgrade the city center within the walls. Phase one focuses on the external facades of 89 buildings, covering an area of approximately 20,000 square meters. The total project covers about 2 kilometers in length, with a total surface area of 29,500 square meters designated for upgrades. Construction work is scheduled to begin on April 23, 2026, following the Easter holiday, and is expected to last 18 months. The contract value is set at 3,442,179.53 euros, excluding VAT. The initiative aims to enhance the aesthetic and functional quality of the area while preserving its diverse historical and architectural heritage.
