Forty-one miners rescued after strike at Bilorechenska coal mine

Forty-one miners were trapped underground at the Bilorechenska coal mine in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region following a Ukrainian military strike. Leonid Pasechnik, the Moscow-appointed head of the region, reported that the strike damaged an electrical substation supplying the facility. The loss of power forced the miners to remain underground during the incident. Emergency services were deployed to restore electricity and conduct rescue operations. Authorities confirmed that contact was maintained with the miners, who had access to drinking water throughout the entrapment. Eventually, all 41 workers were brought to the surface safely. Officials stated that none of the miners sustained injuries or required medical attention. Kyiv has not issued an official comment regarding the incident.
