Cyprus records rise in registered unemployment in March 2026
According to data from the Statistical Service, the number of registered unemployed individuals in Cyprus reached 11,243 by the end of March 2026. This represents a 1.5% increase compared to March 2025, when the figure was 11,073. Separately, seasonally adjusted figures, which reflect unemployment trends, showed a rise to 10,090 individuals in March 2026 compared to 9,936 in February 2026. The Statistical Service attributes this annual growth primarily to sectors including accommodation and food service activities, professional, scientific, and technical activities, and administrative and support services. Specifically, the accommodation and food services sector recorded the highest number of unemployed, with 3,503 individuals. The wholesale and retail trade sector followed with 1,692 unemployed, while professional, scientific, and technical activities accounted for 851.
