Ukraine reports territorial gains and ongoing Russian offensive

Ukrainian Army Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi announced that since late January, Ukraine has regained control of 480 square kilometers of territory in the southeast and east. The regained areas include eight settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk region and four in the Zaporizhzhia region. Despite these gains, General Syrskyi stated that Russian forces continue their spring offensive along the 1,200-kilometer front line. Russian troops are reportedly regrouping and focusing on capturing more territory to establish a 'neutral zone' in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Military analysts suggest that Ukrainian counterattacks near Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka are disrupting Russian operations around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously remarked that the front-line situation is currently at its best level since mid-last year. Ukrainian defensive lines remain intact despite what officials describe as significant Russian losses in personnel and equipment. The ongoing conflict continues across these sectors as both sides pursue active military operations.
