Pancyprian Organization of the Blind opposes new disability legislation

Furthermore, the organization claims the law ignores UN Convention standards and shifts the financial burden of essential care onto individuals and their families due to a lack of public infrastructure. The group also denounced other disability organizations that support the government's approach, alleging they are complicit in a division within the community. They emphasize that the current framework necessitates substantial amendments to ensure a dignified life for people with disabilities. Parliamentary parties were also criticized for failing to recognize the perceived regressive nature of these reforms.
