South Korean intelligence suggests Kim Ju Ae as likely successor
South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) has informed lawmakers that Kim Ju Ae, the teenage daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, is the most likely successor to her father. This assessment was shared during a closed-door parliamentary briefing involving members of both the ruling and opposition parties. The intelligence agency stated its conclusion is based on comprehensive analysis rather than isolated events. Recently, North Korean state media released images of the approximately 13-year-old girl operating a battle tank and engaging in firearms training. Officials noted these public appearances serve to highlight her military aptitude and normalize the concept of a female successor. Lawmaker Park Sun-won of the ruling Democratic Party compared this public visibility to the preparations seen in early 2010 when Kim Jong Un was being groomed to succeed his father. While the regime has not issued an official announcement regarding succession, the NIS maintains that the recurring involvement of the daughter in defense-related activities is intended to solidify her status.
