Five injured in rocket explosion on Chios
On the night of April 5, an explosion occurred in Vrontados, Chios, in a facility used for manufacturing homemade rockets intended for the local Easter tradition. Five individuals sustained serious burns as a result of the incident. The injured group consists of four men and one woman, with ages ranging from approximately 20 to 40 years old. Four of the victims were admitted to the surgical ward of the Skylitseio Hospital in Chios, where they remain under medical care. The individuals suffered extensive burns to their hands and other parts of their bodies. Authorities are currently investigating the specific circumstances that led to the accidental ignition of the rocket-making materials. No official cause for the malfunction has been determined yet.
