President Christodoulides inaugurates new facilities at Paphos General Hospital
On April 6, 2026, President Nikos Christodoulides inaugurated the new Accident and Emergency Department (TAEP), the Short-Term Care Unit, and the Infectious Diseases Unit at Paphos General Hospital. The event was attended by Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides, government officials, and local representatives. During the ceremony, the President announced that the government is investing over 150 million euros in the healthcare sector as part of a broader strategy. He highlighted that the upgrades include modern, high-tech equipment and specialized training for medical staff. Christodoulides reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving healthcare equality across Cyprus, including remote areas like Tillyria. Furthermore, he noted that future infrastructure projects are planned for Limassol and Larnaca in collaboration with the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY). The President described these efforts as a social investment rather than mere accounting, aimed at providing dignity and safety to all patients.
