Epitaphios meeting in Nicosia scheduled for April 10, 2026

On Good Friday, April 10, 2026, at 21:30, the Municipality of Nicosia will host the traditional meeting of the Epitaphios processions at the Eleftheria Square Bridge. The event involves three churches: Panagia Faneromeni, Archangelos Michael Trypiotis, and Agios Savvas. The processions will be led by clergy, church committees, state, municipal, and military authorities, with Bishop Nikodimos of Nitria officiating. The Panagia Faneromeni Epitaphios will be carried by a detachment of the Pancyprian Association of Reserve Commandos, accompanied by the Cyprus Police Philharmonic and the 76th Strovolos Scout Group. The Archangelos Michael Trypiotis Epitaphios will be escorted by the 40th Engomi Scout Group and the 71st Kaimakli Scout Band. The Agios Savvas Epitaphios will be accompanied by the 107th Lykavittos Scout Group. Throughout the event, church choirs will perform traditional hymns.
