Trial proceedings continue for the Tempi rail disaster in Larissa

The trial regarding the Tempi rail disaster continues today at the Gaiopolis facility in Larissa, focusing on the formalization of legal representation. The Three-Member Court of Appeals for Felonies has issued an order regulating the entry of legal participants into the courtroom. The court is processing 230 individuals listed as supporting the prosecution and 122 witnesses. During the session, priority is given to those listed from number 98 onwards, following an initial group of 32 who declared support on April 1st. Remaining witnesses and affected parties who have not been formally called may also file their declarations. There are 36 defendants facing various charges, including the felony of dangerous interference with rail transport with possible malice. Defense attorney and Plefsi Eleftherias leader Zoe Konstantopoulou previously requested audiovisual recording and broadcasting of the proceedings. The court has reserved its decision on this request until the formalization of all legal representatives is complete.
