Delivery driver receives 40,000 dollars in donations after act of kindness

On March 27, 68-year-old delivery driver Dan Simpson went to a convenience store to purchase a soda for a customer after the pizzeria he worked for ran out of the requested item. The customer, Brian Wilson, had been unable to answer phone calls regarding the substitution, so Simpson purchased the drink himself. Upon delivery, Wilson could not provide a tip, but Simpson declined the offer to call the store to resolve the issue. Wilson, who suffers from vision impairment along with his wife, felt compelled to help Simpson, who is set to retire on April 30 and faces financial hardship. Wilson created a GoFundMe page with a target of 45,000 dollars. A video of their interaction posted on TikTok gained over 600,000 views. As a result, public donations have surpassed 40,000 dollars to support Simpson's retirement.
