Second dead dolphin found on Paphos coastline
A dead dolphin was discovered on the Paphos coast on Sunday morning, marking the second such incident in 15 days. The marine mammal was found by local amateur fishermen on the beach between Timi and Acheleia, near Paphos airport. This follows an earlier discovery of a dead dolphin at Faros beach in Kato Paphos on March 20. Authorities were notified immediately, but site inspections and scientific examinations are delayed until Monday morning due to the public holiday. Specialists from the fisheries department are scheduled to conduct an on-site inspection and collect tissue samples for laboratory analysis to determine the cause of death. After the investigation is completed, the carcass will be removed according to established protocols. The frequency of these incidents has prompted concern among local authorities regarding potential underlying causes.
