Final parliamentary session before dissolution
The Cypriot House of Representatives is convening for a final extraordinary plenary session this Monday before its scheduled dissolution ahead of the May 24 legislative elections. The agenda includes voting on two government bills and 19 proposals regarding non-performing loans and property foreclosures. Lawmakers will also vote on legislative proposals concerning property acquisition by foreign nationals. Additionally, the session will cover bills on social participation, inclusion, and independent living for persons with disabilities. The parliament is set to regulate personal mobility devices such as electric scooters. Furthermore, members will decide on the fate of two laws returned by the executive branch regarding payment account comparability, payment account switching, and access for small businesses. Legislation related to consumer protection is also slated for review.
