Police investigate death of 86-year-old man after vehicle collision

On Sunday, at approximately 02:40, an 86-year-old man died following a single-vehicle accident on the road between Analiontas and Tseri. The driver lost control of his car, which subsequently struck a road sign and came to a stop. The fire service deployed two vehicles and a rescue team to the scene near the junction of Tseri, Analiontas, and Marki to extract the driver using rescue equipment. Following the extraction, the man was transported by ambulance to the Nicosia General Hospital. Upon arrival, medical staff certified his death. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the collision to determine if the death was caused by the impact or resulted from natural causes. A formal autopsy is scheduled to establish the exact cause of death.
