Zero waste food workshop held in Limassol

On March 29, 2024, the "Table to Zero: Climate Action Day" workshop took place at the Agno Zero Waste Grocery in Limassol, Cyprus. Organized by Climate Pact Ambassador Penelope Vasquez Hadjilyra in collaboration with the Zero Waste Alliance Cyprus and Karolina’s Brunch Club, the event marked the eve of the International Day of Zero Waste. Approximately 20 participants attended the interactive session, which focused on the environmental and economic consequences of food waste. Attendees learned practical skills for waste reduction, including accurate ingredient measurement and the use of locally sourced products. Participants prepared fresh homemade pasta to demonstrate the benefits of cooking from scratch. The workshop also covered sustainable waste management, specifically home composting, and featured a demonstration of composting worms. The initiative aimed to educate the public on the connection between food consumption and carbon emissions, as part of the broader objectives of the European Climate Pact.
