Exhibition on 1974 displacement held in Paphos

The Paphos Technical and Vocational School of Education and Training organized an exhibition titled 'Memory Fragments – The Voice of Small Things' at the Old Powerhouse (Palia Ilektriki) in Paphos. The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, opened on April 3, 2026. The exhibition showcases small personal items saved by refugees during the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus, along with an accompanying book documenting these stories. Speakers at the opening included school director Theodoros Ilias, Director of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education Ilias Markatzis, and sponsor George Leptos of the Leptos Group. The presentation featured personal testimonies from staff members and musical performances by students of the Music Lyceum. The exhibition is open to the public daily from 11:00 to 16:00 until April 6, 2026. Proceeds from the sale of the book will support the school's student welfare fund.
