President Christodoulides visits Thessaloniki for honorary citizenship

On April 4, 2026, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides traveled to Thessaloniki to attend events hosted by local authorities. On Sunday, April 5, the President will be officially declared an honorary citizen of Thessaloniki at the City Hall, where he is scheduled to deliver an address in the presence of state officials. Following this, the President will visit the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki to attend an event commemorating the anniversary of April 1. This event, titled 'In the footsteps of heroes: Evagoras Pallikarides – Nikos Kapetanidis,' is organized by the university in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Republic of Cyprus and the Nikos Kapetanidis Action Association. After the university event, President Christodoulides will return to Cyprus. He is accompanied by Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis, Deputy Minister of Migration and International Protection Nikolas Ioannidis, and several staff members.
