President Christodoulides visits Pyrgos Tyllirias to discuss regional development
President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides visited the remote community of Pyrgos Tyllirias on Saturday to meet with local authorities and residents. This marked his third visit to the area since his election. During the meeting, the President reported that the government is currently investing between 20 and 22 million euros in local projects, including an initiative to create the first model green community in Cyprus. He emphasized the government's fiscal responsibility, which allows for investments in education, healthcare, housing, and social welfare to encourage families to remain in the region. Specifically, the President addressed a local school staffing issue, noting that the problem regarding a teacher's placement has been resolved. He underscored his commitment to personally monitoring the implementation of these projects to maintain public trust. Furthermore, the President included an inspection of the Alefka outpost in his schedule prior to the meeting. Future follow-up meetings are planned for after the holidays to review project progress before the summer season.
