61-year-old man arrested following attack on mobile traffic camera operator

Police in the Nicosia district arrested a 61-year-old man following an incident involving a mobile speed camera operator. The incident occurred yesterday around 4:45 p.m. while the operator was stationed in a vehicle to conduct traffic monitoring. According to the complaint, the suspect approached the vehicle, opened the door, and began shouting threats at the employee. The suspect allegedly grabbed the operator's personal bag and caused damage to it. Following an investigation, police secured testimony identifying the 61-year-old suspect. He was arrested under a judicial warrant, interrogated, and subsequently charged in writing. The suspect has been released and will be summoned to appear in court at a later date. The Peristerona police station is currently investigating the case.
