61-year-old arrested for attacking traffic camera operator in Nicosia

On the afternoon of the previous day, a 61-year-old man was arrested by police in connection with an incident involving a traffic camera operator in Nicosia. According to police reports, the incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. while the operator was inside a mobile traffic monitoring vehicle. An unidentified man approached the vehicle, opened the door, and began threatening the employee. During the encounter, the suspect allegedly seized and damaged a personal bag belonging to the operator. Following an investigation, authorities secured evidence against the 61-year-old suspect and executed a judicial arrest warrant. After being taken into custody and interrogated, the suspect was charged in writing and released pending a court summons. The Peristerona Police Station is currently overseeing the ongoing investigation into the matter.
