Three Indonesian UN peacekeepers injured in southern Lebanon explosion

Three Indonesian peacekeepers serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) were injured in an explosion inside a UN facility near Al-Adisah in southern Lebanon on Friday. According to UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Ardiel, two of the injured soldiers are in serious condition, and the origin of the explosion remains unknown. All three victims were transported to a hospital for medical treatment. This incident follows the deaths of three other Indonesian UNIFIL soldiers between March 29 and March 30 in the same region. Southern Lebanon has been the site of frequent clashes between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah following the outbreak of the war in the Middle East. UNIFIL confirmed the nationalities of the latest casualties through its information center in Jakarta. The peacekeeping force remains deployed along the border area as hostilities between the opposing sides persist.
