Vehicle fires reported in Larnaca and Nicosia
On April 5, 2026, a vehicle belonging to a 30-year-old was set on fire while parked outside his residence in Aradippou, Larnaca. Local police received notice of the fire shortly before 4:00 a.m., and the scene was cordoned off for investigation by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (TAE). Previously, on the evening of April 3, 2026, two vehicles belonging to a 48-year-old were destroyed in Nicosia. Authorities confirmed that the Nicosia incident was a malicious act of arson, which caused extensive damage to the front of the cars. While the cause of the Larnaca fire is still under investigation, the site was secured for forensic examination. Both cases are currently being investigated by the respective provincial police departments. No injuries were reported in either incident, and no suspects have been identified as of now.
