Cybersecurity expert questions authenticity of Makarios Drousiotis's evidence
On April 3, journalist Makarios Drousiotis published alleged evidence of corruption involving former judge Michalis Christodoulou and an individual identified as 'Santy'. The documents purported to show financial transactions between the two parties. Following the publication, cybersecurity expert Dinos Pastos analyzed the shared files and publicly declared them to be a fabrication. Pastos pointed to several inconsistencies, including spelling errors like 'TRANFERT,' incorrect numerical formatting, and naming discrepancies. He further stated that the images of money included in the post appear to be recycled from existing online sources. Pastos concluded that the documents do not constitute valid evidence and suggested that Drousiotis may have been misled by a third party. Drousiotis presented this material shortly before attending a scheduled deposition at the Police Headquarters. The police investigation into the corruption claims remains ongoing, while the authenticity of the evidence is now explicitly contested.
