Ministry of Labor announces support scheme for hotel industry
Minister of Labor Marinos Mousiouttas presented a special employment support scheme for the hotel industry on Friday. Eligible businesses must demonstrate a revenue reduction of over 40% compared to April 2025 or occupancy rates below 60%. Companies can receive subsidies for up to 80% of their staff. During the subsidy period, employees will receive a benefit equal to 30% of their monthly salary, capped at €1,324, with employers required to cover the remaining balance. A mandatory condition for participation is that no employee may be dismissed before May 31, 2026. Applications must be submitted via the Ergani information system, accompanied by audit reports from certified accountants, bank statements, and company documentation. Prior to filing, employers must update wage information within the Ergani portal.
