Christos Kliridis addresses allegations surrounding Makarios Drousiotis' reports
Christos Kliridis, former president of the Cyprus Bar Association, confirmed he had prior knowledge of the allegations raised by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. These allegations involve serious accusations of bribery, judicial misconduct, and procedural irregularities. Kliridis stated that he received documentation regarding these issues from lawyer Nikos Kliridis during his tenure as president of the Bar Association. According to Christos Kliridis, he advised Nikos Kliridis to report the matter to the police, but the complainant refrained due to safety concerns. Kliridis noted that his role as Bar Association president did not grant him authority to investigate criminal offenses, leaving such matters to the police. While he initially refrained from publicizing the documents due to difficulties in substantiating the claims, he expressed shock at the severity of the content. There are also reports that a person named Sandy has been moved to a European country for protection. The political party DIMAL has called for an official investigation into these claims.
