Emergency rescue drill conducted at Limassol container terminal

On Thursday and Friday, Eurogate CTL conducted a large-scale emergency response exercise at the Limassol container terminal. The drill simulated the rescue of an injured individual from a gantry crane at a height of 70 meters. Personnel from Eurogate CTL, the Emak disaster response unit, and the Limassol Fire Service participated in the operation. Rescuers utilized specialized harnesses and a 60-meter telescopic platform operated by the Limassol district fire brigade. The exercise tested emergency protocols and coordination in a high-risk industrial environment with restricted access points. Safety officer Socrates Christodoulou and operations director Alexandros Demetriades of Eurogate CTL confirmed the successful activation of safety measures. Emak commander Charalambos Charalambous noted the importance of the training for maintaining readiness in complex industrial sites. The outcome will be formally evaluated to facilitate future safety improvements.
