Emergency response exercise held at Limassol port
On March 26, 2026, a large-scale emergency readiness exercise was conducted at the container terminal of the Limassol port. The operation involved personnel from the operator Eurogate CTL, the Disaster Response Special Unit (EMAK), and the Limassol Fire Department. The scenario simulated the rescue of an injured individual from a crane at a height of 70 meters. Fire department personnel used specialized rescue harnesses and a 60-meter telescopic platform to execute the maneuver. The drill tested emergency protocols and coordination in an area with restricted access and high-risk conditions. Following the exercise, Eurogate CTL Safety Manager Socratis Christodoulou and Operations Director Alexandros Dimitriadis stated that the event was successful. They noted that the training will be evaluated to improve future operational readiness and worker safety.
