Fatal light aircraft crashes reported in Brazil and Mexico
Two separate light aircraft crashes resulted in a total of eight fatalities. In Brazil, a single-engine Piper crashed into a closed restaurant in Capao da Canoa, Rio Grande do Sul, at approximately 10:40 a.m. local time, killing two pilots and two businessmen on board. CCTV footage captured the impact, and while nearby buildings sustained damage, there were no injuries reported on the ground. Separately, in Mexico, a four-seater aircraft with registration XB-RRN crashed in a rural area of Huejotzingo, Puebla, shortly after taking off from Hermanos Serdan International Airport. The flight was bound for Poza Rica, Veracruz. Authorities confirmed three fatalities at the scene, while a fourth person succumbed to injuries later at a hospital. Witnesses observed the pilot attempting maneuvers before the plane plunged to the ground.
