AEL and APOEL secure wins in first leg of futsal championship semifinals

The Futsal Championship semifinal series commenced with AEL defeating Ararat 6-2 in Limassol on Thursday. Following this, APOEL secured a 3-2 victory over Omonia Nicosia in the first leg of their series held at the Tassos Papadopoulos-Eleftheria stadium. For APOEL, Konstantinos Kouloumbris scored twice (2', 39') and Tziakidis added a goal (36'). Omonia's goals were attributed to an own goal by Kouloumbris (20') and a strike by Andreas Savvas (24'). The semifinals are decided based on a best-of-three format, requiring two wins to qualify for the final. All second-leg matches are scheduled for April 20.
