EDEK official disputes allegations by investigative journalist Makarios Drousiotis

Morfakis Solomonidis, deputy chairman of EDEK, has sent a formal letter to the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Costas Fytiris, regarding allegations made by journalist Makarios Drousiotis. Solomonidis denies the accusations, which involve alleged communication with a third party named Christodoulou, and has denounced Drousiotis for spreading fake news and creating false documents. The deputy chairman has requested a forensic examination of his mobile phone to verify his innocence and is demanding results from the police within 1-2 days. Additionally, Solomonidis has instructed his lawyer to initiate a defamation lawsuit and a private criminal prosecution against Drousiotis. The legal counsel also informed the Minister that reports were filed with Facebook to remove the posts published by Drousiotis on March 30 and 31. The legal team argues that the journalist's claims are unfounded and violate personal data protection laws. They further requested that the authorities summon Drousiotis to provide evidence for his allegations or face criminal charges for disseminating false information.
