Javokhir Sindarov takes lead after four rounds at the Candidates Tournament in Cyprus

The Candidates Tournament is currently underway at the Cap St Georges Hotel in Cyprus, with four of the 14 scheduled rounds completed. In the men's section, 20-year-old Uzbek Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov leads the standings with three wins and one draw. Sindarov has defeated Andrey Esipenko, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, and Fabiano Caruana, while drawing against Matthias Blübaum. In the women's section, Bibisara Assaubayeva and late entry Anna Muzychuk are tied for the lead, both having secured one victory each. Assaubayeva recently defeated Zhu Jiner, while Muzychuk won against Kateryna Lagno. April 2nd has been designated as a rest day for all participants. The tournament continues with 10 remaining rounds to determine the winners.
